Hello and Welcome,
It is indeed energizing to speak with you in this medium. There was a time in the recent past that this exchange would not have been in the realm of possibility. Now that we can post information for individuals to browse for their spiritual choices of service, our evangelizing will take on a new flavor.
Our church is small but growing. Its growth is not only in numbers of people, but in spirituality as well. What those visiting us for the first time experience is the friendliest group of people gathered in one place that they could imagine. We are not overwhelming, but we are energetic. Besides being happy that you chose to worship with us, we will make sure that you are able to participate in our services with simple direction and user-friendly bulletins. We share in singing, prayer, sharing of the Word, a thoughtful sermon, collection of tithes and Communion every Sunday as well as passing of the peace. Adult Bible Class is held every Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Children are welcome and will be taught Bible stories as well as creative activities in Children's Church during worship services.
Brewerton Christian Church is a treasure in the history of its building and in the history of our denomination – Disciples of Christ. We have a Board of Elders, Board of Deacons and Official Board – including many support committees to service the whole of the church. We are a church that welcomes all and we practice open Communion to those who profess Christ.
Now a little about the pastor – I am a licensed Lay Pastor through the Disciples of Christ Commission on Ministry. My continuing education is provided by the New York School of Ministry. This is being accomplished through a Faith Covenant with the United Church of Christ. My track for training is that of ordination. I am well on my way.
